Inside the Hide, help us to help out
First of all…we miss you guys. We can’t wait to get back to serving you all again, but until then let’s continue to stay positive, and safe, and remember there is sunlight on the horizon!
Continuing that train of thought, we have an exciting little competition for you.
We want to know what your favourite sandwiches, ciabattas or sarnies are!
We are after your ideas for some (practical) suggestions for when we re-open, the best one/s chosen will get a place on our specials board for our “back to it” opening weekend, you can have one, on us, and we may even name it after you!!
Whilst we are, (still) dreaming about food and drink, a question..
Do you think our menu is missing anything?
Is there something you’ve been waiting for us to put on?
If yes, just let us know and if we can work it in we may just surprise you with it ?
The competition ends Feb 22 and will be announced on our Social media so stay tuned!??
Good luck!
Now, we all miss having a little boogie to the music in the bar on a Friday and Saturday night. We believe it’s so important to create a chilled but vibrant vibe at the Hide, and music is a real key element.
Sam and Andrea love their music. The playlists are curated with their tastes in mind, and the atmosphere they want to share with you all.
We like to play a little funky blues, jazz and soul on a Saturday breakfast ( has great tempo and that feel good factor…and goes fantastically well with Smashed Avocado and a velvety smooth flat white). On a Sunday morning we love a bit of Norah Jones, Angie Stone and some Leon Bridges…these guys match perfectly to our Bacon or Sausage Sarnies and a delicious Bloody Mary to get you back on track.
Mixing it up in the week, we love a classic Motown playlist. Throw in a bit of Bill Withers, Donny Hathaway or Billy Paul, whats not to love! These legends pair well with a salad and a glass of rose for catch-ups with your best girlfriends (boys are permitted too) 🙂
And what about the evenings? Well, Friday early evenings is all about switching off after a busy week. Pop in for a couple of beers or a bottle of wine and dissect the week. The music is important here, nobody wants heavy beats or too many lyrics! We love a bit of Erykah Badu, D’Angelo, Jill Scott and some Maribou State to go with a glass of our Pinot Noir.
As we approach the darker hours we ramp it up a little with Espresso Martinis and some funky beats: Tom Misch, FKJ, throw in some Soul II Soul and Chaka Khan for good measure.
Saturdays are all about letting your hair down. Early evening we tend to have a good crowd in after the rugby or footie has finished the music has to be fairly loud to compete with everyone! This is a fun atmosphere so we play some upbeat tunes: A bit of Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke and The O’jays are a must. These choons go perfectly with a post-match Guinness.
The ease into Saturday night is an important time, everyone dressed to impress, meeting up with friends and having a good natter. What’s better than some 80s Funk and Soul? The Gap Band, Roy Ayers, or some Shalamar with that Passion fruit Martini? We’ll say CHEERS to that !!!
Looking forward to when we can see all your happy faces again :))
Bye for now
Sam, Andrea and the Hide team xx
